Segregation of electronic garbage

Appropriate treatment and disposal of hazardous substances protects the environment from pollution and contamination. Using recycled materials for production of new equipment greatly reduces the use of natural resources and contributes to lower technology costs.

• Lead is used in electronics as a component of solders and CRT glass. It has toxic and carcinogenic properties. After being absorbed into the body, it first gets through the bloodstream to the liver, lungs, heart and kidneys, and then the metal accumulates in the skin and muscles. Eventually, it accumulates in bone tissue and destroys the bone.
• Bromine compounds are used in computers. After entering the environment, they cause reproductive system disorders and neurological problems in humans and animals.
• Chromium is used for coating metal parts to protect them from corrosion. This element is also included in the CRT phosphor. Chromium poisoning is manifested by disorders of the circulatory and respiratory systems, skin diseases and allergy.
• Cadmium is contained in batteries for electrical equipment. It impairs renal function and reproductive function, causes hypertensive disease and cancer, disrupts calcium metabolism causing skeletal deformities of bone.
• When nickel penetrates into the body in high concentrations, it damages the mucous membranes, reduces the levels of magnesium and zinc in the liver, causes changes in the bone marrow and can contribute to cancerous changes.
• PCB (chemical compounds) perform cooling, lubricating, and insulating functions in devices. After entering the body, they accumulate in the adipose tissue, which causes, i.a., liver damage, reproductive abnormalities, weakening of the immune system, neurological and hormonal disorders.
• PCB (chemical compounds) are the functions of the equipment cooling, lubricating and insulating. After entering the body is in arrears in the adipose tissue resulting in liver damage, reproductive abnormalities, immune weakness, neurological disorders and hormonal.
• Asbestos is used in electrical and electronic equipment, i.a., because of its insulating properties. It is, however, the cause of many serious diseases, such as asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma cancer.

WorldIT Systems Sp. z o. o. cooperates with REMONDIS, a company running a processing plant, with a processing capacity which enables the collected waste equipment to be processed. (Article 33, item 1 of the Polish WEEE Act). Under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Act of 29 July 2005, amended on 21 November 2008, producers and importers who introduce electrical and electronic equipment to the Polish market are responsible for organizing and financing, collecting, accepting, processesing, recovery and recycling of used equipment.
